Welcome to the “holy grail” for classic car collectors. The Lembrecht Chevrolet Company in Pierce, Nebraska is holding an auction of over 500 classic cars later this month.

Among the collection of cars is a 1978 Chevrolet Indy Pace Car, a 1966 Bel Air sedan, and a 1964 Impala. Many of the cars have fewer than 10 miles on the odometer, and some still have the price sticker on the window and the original oil in their engines. It is incredibly rare to find cars in this condition.

The original price of the 1964 Impala was around $3,000. It is predicted that some of the vehicles will now sell for over $100,000.

These cars are in such good shape because the dealership’s owner didn’t sell trade-ins or the previous year’s model once the new ones came out. The dealership closed in 1996, and all but 25 of the over 500 cars were kept outside, where the elements have taken their toll.

The auctioneers aren’t washing the cars, running them, or removing debris (a Chevy from the 50’s has a 20-foot tree limb growing out of the bumper) so the collectors who purchase them can decide what they would like to do.

It is expected that as many as 10,000 classic car enthusiasts will head to Pierce, population 1,700, to check out the goods.
